A venture capital firm built by data and security operators, investing with deep conviction at the Seed stage.
DataInx Ventures was founded in New York in 2022 by a team of operators and investors who spent the preceding decade inside the data and security infrastructure that powers modern enterprises. We watched category-defining companies get built, missed, or overlooked by capital that lacked the domain depth to recognize what mattered.
We started DataInx to fix that. The firm invests exclusively at the Seed stage in three verticals: data technology, cybersecurity, and AI infrastructure. We write meaningful checks, typically $2M to $5M, move quickly, and bring operating expertise that generalist firms cannot replicate.
Our edge is simple: we have built or operated in every category we invest in. Our partners have held CTO, VP Engineering, CISO, and founding engineer roles at companies ranging from VC-backed startups to publicly traded enterprises. When founders pitch us, they are not explaining the problem. We already know the problem. We are evaluating whether this team has the best solution.
We are headquartered in New York and actively deploy capital across North America and Western Europe. We closed our inaugural fund in January 2025 and have deployed into twelve portfolio companies across our three focus verticals.
The companies that build the platforms, pipes, and protocols underlying every AI-powered enterprise will generate asymmetric returns. We invest in infrastructure, not applications.
Every enterprise expanding its data footprint creates new attack surface. Security tooling that keeps pace with modern attack vectors will have durable, recurring demand for decades.
We enter when technical risk is highest and valuation is most attractive. Our domain expertise lets us underwrite that risk better than generalists, and our value-add is most impactful in the earliest days.
We are operators first, investors second. Our process reflects that.
We go deep in the first meeting. No icebreaker nonsense. We know the market, we want to understand your technical approach, your GTM hypothesis, and what you know that the market does not yet understand.
Our diligence is technical. We review architecture, evaluate competitive moats, and reference check with the practitioners who will buy your product. We move fast and give direct feedback regardless of outcome.
We issue clean, standard term sheets. We do not re-trade. We aim to close in under three weeks from term sheet and have done it in ten days when founders needed speed.
We actively support on enterprise intros, hiring for the first five technical roles, post-Seed fundraising positioning, and market strategy. Our network of CISOs, CTOs, and data leaders is a direct commercial asset for portfolio companies.
DataInx Ventures has co-invested alongside Greylock Partners in select portfolio companies, reflecting our shared conviction in backing exceptional founders at the earliest stages. We maintain strong relationships with leading institutional investors who share our long-term perspective on technology transformation.
Our investor base includes university endowments, family offices, and institutional allocators who share our conviction in early-stage technology investing. Our LPs provide not just capital but deep networks that benefit our portfolio companies.
